New and Exciting Beauty Treatments

Welcome

As we send out our Christmas newsletter, we want to wish all our clients a Merry Christmas and the very best start to 2011. We’d also like to thank you for helping to make 2010 a great year – and hopefully one in which you were able to proactively manage your back pain and improve the health of your back.

This newsletter has a few upcoming offers for the New Year as well as some articles about back, posture and wellbeing. I hope you enjoy it!

From everyone here at the BackCare Clinic, we’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you have a warm and relaxing (and pain free) holiday period.

Do it Right. Do it Regularly

Following on from the article in the last newsletter called “Pain or Maintain” I wanted to share the story of one of my clients.

Self-employed as a builder, he had been suffering with back pain for years. When he first came to see me it took a few sessions, but I got him moving better and strengthening his spine and he was able to live in significantly less pain. He came to see me every few months for a ‘check-up’ or maintenance appointment, making sure that everything was working well and not on the path to causing any more problems.

Now in this financial climate, I can understand saving pennies wherever we can – but sadly, my client cancelled one of his maintenance appointments. Just a few weeks after he cancelled it, he was calling up to book an emergency appointment because his back pain had returned with a vengeance. Not only did he end up having to see me regularly again for a few weeks, but he had to take two weeks off work – which whether you’re self-employed or in employment is always going to cause problems.

He said to me afterwards that he really felt bad about having tried to save the £35 for that one maintenance appointment, the cancelling of which literally ended up costing him hundreds in days off work.
Even if you’re employed so don’t have to worry about losing clients, surely you don’t want to be in the position of potentially using up holidays if you go over your quota of sick days?

It’s a matter of maintaining back health. When it comes to our teeth we all know we have to see the dentist a couple of times a year to make sure there are no nasty problems building up. How rare is it that people have teeth pulled these days? Well, I encourage you to think of back pain in the same way. Don’t wait until your back is screaming at you - do what you can while you are NOT in pain, to make you STAY out of pain. If we were to treat our spine the same way we treat our teeth and make sure that everything is in order from a young age and on a regular basis, there would be a lot fewer people with postural problems and chronic or resurging back pain. And let’s face it; a spine has to last a lifetime!

Paying for a maintenance session every few months is quite literally a small price to pay to avoid having to take time off work and spend money on regular appointments again.

Call to book your back care maintenance session today at the Eye or Ipswich clinic.

We will be celebrating our 10th Christmas at the Complementary Medicine Centre in Eye this year. We can’t quite believe it’s been a whole decade, but are really pleased at the great reputation we have built and the large number of clients who travel from near and far to see us for back pain relief and other treatments. We have helped literally hundreds of clients deal with problematic backs and other ailments over the past ten years, and look forward to helping hundreds more in the coming decade as well!

To celebrate all this, we’re offering £10 off BackCare Clinic treatments in January to the first 50 people to quote “Anniversary” when booking their appointment. And in a celebratory mood, I’m extending the offer to clients in the Ipswich clinic as well.

This is for treatments booked for January and is limited to the first 50 people to call, so make sure you get in there quickly and come and celebrate with us!

Becoming the Tall Dark Stranger...

Posture is one of the overwhelming factors in making a good first impression – whether it’s for a job interview or meeting someone special.
Just a brief glance across the cosmetic industry in this country will tell you how far we are willing to go to look good – from cosmetic dentistry to botox, full-on surgery to expensive beauty, skin and hair care products and eye laser surgery. Well, looking at all this and looking at the way most of us hunch up, I have a much better, cheaper and healthier way of improving your image – and it’s all about standing tall.

In an age where a large number of us spend most of our working day (and even some of our leisure time) hunched over computers or stuck behind the wheel of a car, good posture is something that seems to have gone out the window. A lot of us will struggle to look over one shoulder without tilting our heads or twisting at the waist – which tells us that our backs are severely lacking in mobility. However, posture has a huge impact on the impression you give. A lot research has been done on the impact of body language – they say it speaks volumes – and at the very core of body language is a good posture.

As patients of the clinic you are aware of the benefits of TheraFlex in reducing back, neck and shoulder pain. Maybe now is an opportunity to tell your friends and family of the way it can help posture. It is particularly useful for children in their late teens, where it can make an amazing difference – not only in reducing the risk of back pain in the future, but also increasing their confidence and self esteem.

As you will know, TheraFlex helps to mobilise the joints in the spine, so that people who have got into bad posture habits can correct themselves in comfort. You will be amazed what a difference this can have to people’s perceptions of you – a good posture makes you seem taller, more confident and most certainly makes you look slimmer. TheraFlex treatment and some exercises to maintain flexibility and good posture will make a genuine difference to the way you sit and stand, and the impression that you make on people.

A course of TheraFlex treatments will only cost a total of about £150 – which compared to the ongoing cost of botox, cosmetic surgery and even some skincare routines, is extremely accessible.

To top it all off, this is one of the few beauty treatments out there that genuinely gives long term health benefits. Unlike invasive surgeries, injections or chemical treatments, TheraFlex simply helps to mobilise your own body and can help you to avoid back and joint problems later on in life. Improving your posture is an affordable way of revamping your image. You will be able to stand tall and make the very best first impression as well as giving yourself the gift of a healthy back!

New and Exciting Beauty Treatments
line

With more exciting news for the Complementary Medicine Centre in Eye, we are pleased to welcome a new form of beauty treatment to the centre. Using the highly skilled technique of ‘Sugaring’, Zahra Practitioner Alison is offering hair removal without all the pain, chemicals or blades.

Sugaring, also known as the Zahra Method, is a way of removing hair based on ancient and traditional eastern techniques. The method nourishes and smoothes the skin, while removing all unwanted hair. Unlike most techniques, which leave your skin raw and sore, Sugaring improves the condition of your skin. No more unwanted hair, stubbly re-growth or dryness – just skin that feels noticeably healthier, silky soft and smooth.  And above all, this method makes hair removal an enjoyable experience – leaving you feeling pampered and relaxed instead of tense and sore.

By the way, Sugaring is not just for women… men have unwanted hair too, and now you can get rid of it without the fear of the ‘rip and scream’ that women have bizarrely seemed willing to put up with for years!

Call the Complementary Medicine Centre on 01379 870707 to book to see Alison and experience this new form of hair removal.
